I think it's progress that he's actually speaking to the media! He may be, as saden1 intimated, simply marketing himself to a once-mutinous fanbase that he suspects could now be in a somewhat forgiving mood ("after all, he did bring Gibbs home, didn't he?"), but at least he's making an effort now to portray himself as a rational, thoughtful and conciliatory human being. That's a lot more than can be said for his public relations skills over the past few years.

I truly hope that Gibbs' unique charisma-- defined by graciousness, humility, and earnestness-- begins to rub off on Dan Snyder, and that Snyder has indeed learned from his past mistakes. If Snyder is willing to concede his own faults and errors, which he seems to be doing (for the moment, at least), and respect the lessons that can be learned from a masterful leader like Joe Gibbs, then there is hope for this franchise-- even beyond this second Gibbs era.
