If he totally outplays Lloyd or Randle El, I have no doubts he will play. But I also doubt he will outplay them.

The key word there is TOTALLY, and I agree I don't think that will happen either, but what if it's marginal? Technically he outplayed them but still gets the 4th WR slot, can he live with that? I do not believe so, it's one of the reasons he signed with us last year to get out of the shadow of the rest of NE WR's. Don't forget although things seem fine now Patten did start to fall out of favor with his complaining last season, that may or may not have significance this pre-season, regardless if he wasen't happy about how he was used last season he will have a real problem this year.

we wont know for sure till pre-season starts cranking but it's alway's fun to speculate.
