I thought this was worth a discussion so I copied it here.

Coles is a strange cat. Obvious the abuse issues play a large role in that.

I think what he might regret is leaving NY in the first place. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for and is happy. His ending here was messy, but I think most of us will agree it wasn't all his fault.
