Depth is an issue. I don’t question Gibbs’ strategy of building in free agency, but over the years we’ve given up a lot of draft picks and the late round picks we’ve gotten have for the most part not become contributors (yet).
On the other hand, if Molinaro & Wilson from the 2004 draft were good enough to start somewhere, then maybe I would view our draft strategy differently. Teams that have solid depth, e.g. pats & eagles, have done so w/mid rnd. draft picks.
