I agree, runningbacks are a dime a dozen; RB is the easiest position to transition from college football. THat is why rookie RB's are usually the first to make a splash in the NFL. Betts has a ton of potential and not much else to show for it. Kind of like a WR and QB we recently got rid of.
Besides, I like this kid Jessie Lumsden from McMaster, at 6' 2" and 224 pounds; he brings size to compliment Portis. So far Lumsden has impressed me with great running instinct. Gibbs loves the guy. If he pans out, he could be #2 rb by end of season. Cartwright and Betts need to look in their rear view.
I do not want to overpay for a #2 RB that has not produced or proven he can stay healthy. I don't care how much potential he has. We have greater roster needs than paying big bucks for an injury prone #2.
