Re: Cowboys -- Question on Akin Ayodele.
My fantasy football experience has been kind of so-so over the years. I used to call myself the "Marty Schottenheimer of fantasy football" because I was always making the playoffs (and occasionally the championship) but never winning out.
I don't play anymore for two reasons:
1. It requires little knowledge of individual defensive players and offensive lineman. Most of the focus is on the prima-donas, and many fantasy football coaches don't even know the names of the other players.
2. A lot of luck is involved. Don't get me wrong, there is some skill, but particularly in my last season, we had a guy in our league who got very lucky and nearly won it all. Some luck is okay in every game, but it got a little excessive watching that guy win game after game. At least he didn't win the whole thing.
I came to the conclusion that there are probably not enough factors in fantasy football to make it interesting for me. I might get back in someday, but for the past two years I haven't bothered.
