I am gonna have to strongly disagree with you. There is a huge difference between what Clinton and LaVar are doing/did, and I think that is an appropiate comparision to illustrate how what you are saying, will never happen.
They are/were franchise players, both got hurt, and both complained to the media. So on paper, this looks like the same deal, and therefore Portis would be off the team too, right? Wrong. Portis has no problem with the coaching staff, and even though he said something about playing, it was due to frustration of his injury, shit I would too. If you were a superstar, and you got hurt in a meaningless game, you would be pissed, but you would be too scared to speak your mind, well Portis is not scared. Obviously Portis knows he was gonna play, and if didn't get hurt it is no big deal, but that was emotion you all heard. The coaches have no problem with that at all, and we need him to win. We did not NEED LaVar to win, that is the main difference, and that is why Portis won't be traded.
It is also because his injury really is not that serve. I compared his injury to Palmer's in another thread, and most people are not worried about Palmer, they think his knee will hold up instead of Portis's shoulder? Obviously Palmer is much more likely to get hurt, but people think Portis is done, and Palmer is gonna be the MVP.
My point is that we need Portis to win, and his injury is not that bad, therefore he is staying lol. I can not believe I am actually arguing, I really do not know how one can think he will be gone. If Portis is benched, we do not need him to win, then we can talk about this(which won't happen), otherwise this really cannot be a legit arguement.
