Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware has been fined $5,000 by the league for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Washington Redskins QB Mark Brunell Week 2. Ware attempted to ease up and was flagged for roughing the passer. He is planning to appeal the fine.

I am all for protecting the QB, but I really did not think that hit warranted a fine.
