I was shocked when they kicked a field goal. This showed no confidence in our offense and at 16 to 3made no real sense. If they had scored a touch down the momentum would have been completely turned around. We need to play to win. Come on Joe, remember those fake punts, remember those forth and ones(John Riggins, superbowl). Joe was an offensive powerhouse the first time around.
At the time, I wanted to see them go for it.

But as a coach you have to consider a few things.

1) Can you kicker make that

A: Yes, the fact that he missed is awful, but hindsight is always 20-20. Hall is a very good kicker and I would think of that as an automatic 3. Scoring some points may have given the redskins some much needed momentum, and could have potentially changed the game

2) Can you convert the 4 and 1?

A: I'd say it was 50-50. The Giants had been winning the trench fight all game long and they had confidence. Playing in their home stadium with there crowd behind them, It would have been a very very tough yard to gain. CP is more outside of an outside the tackles runner, and outside the tackles is where there strength is.
