Actually, getting burned on that play early in the pre-season is a blessing. Now we can prepare for it.
Remember, though, this was basically a scrimage for the skins, and they certainly did minimal scouting. Further, they were not opening up even a little of the serious playbook yet, so you can't take much from this. Also, I thought that Denver ran many more "regular season" type things, which made us look worse, at this stage. Finally, Denver is a vet playoff team, and we are a 5-11 team with a new coaching staff and lots of new players. And we still picked them off a bunch of times, once for a TD.
Williams is the real deal at D-coordinator, and he's got on of the best staffs in the league. Don't get too worried yet! Also, remember that play late in the first half where Williams brought the dealyed blitz to knock Denver out of field-goal range? That was a great call, and one of the few times he turned on the jets there. Good stuff.
