I don't know this writer, so I am not aware of what he has written in the past. My beef is for the general attitude the media has towards snyder.
When snyder spends too much, and is involved in the operations of the team, the media says he's meddling. However, if snyder is involved in other business ventures (i.e.: Tom Cruise, and w/e he's doing with him), then the media jumps on snyder because he's not focused on the team (or whatever their problem with cruise is).
They're not offering an objective view of the team. They're not even offering a CONSISTENT opinion. They're just writing stories because they have to write something.
