Your going to say, that you said, we can get rid of him, if we have a suitable replacement. You can say that about anybody. Originally, that is not what you were saying. Anyway, my point is why get an old tight end, that probably wont play, except on special teams. Buck Ortega, may not be a great blocker, but he can certainly get better. If not Buck Ortega, at least someone that is young and capable of improving, to help us in the future.
he's probably replacing fauria, and he was probably brought back cause he's been here for two years and knows the place and the coaches are comfortable with him and think he can help them right now, whereas ortega would be a project. young guys of better talent would be better, but as for why koz, see above. if he'll play - that depends on our use of 2 TE sets and the severity of cooley's seperated shouler on a week to week basis.

we brought in young guys in ortega and robert johnson, but obviously, since koz is the one coming back, they think he's better right now and possibly that the other young guys they looked at weren't worth trying to coach up.

as for the other stuff, you really need to try reading more carefully. i've stated that we'd draft a DE in the firt round, which would be a replacement. I don't know why you think that's a contradiction.
