He shouldn't be going across the middle like he's been, but I do agree that he should play. He should NOT have gone back in after that hit though!
On the other hand, if he's only in for 1-2 series, he'll likely only get a couple catches at most. Is that really gonna make that much of a difference with the QB/WR chemistry??? Just playing devils advocate....
