Even good players made Barry Switzer look like an NFL genius. You can be the greatest coach in the world, but if you haven't got the players then you're probably going nowhere. There isn't a season that proves that point more than this one. What I was saying with the Parcells is overrated thing is that he's hyped up like he's the greatest coach ever not named Lombardi, but his last playoff victory was in 1998 with the Jets. The media gushes all over Parcells but have seemed to forgotten just how great Gibbs was and what he can still bring to the table. I think it's probably because Parcells likes to draw attention to himself (just watch his press conferences) and Gibbs is humble and respectful. At least that's one factor to it.
