Re: redskins offense/ bright spots

Campbell's stats at Auburn. Not great stats, but he had a very nice senior year. Remember too that he had both Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams there running the ball like crazy.

Campbell has been playing like he's stepping on the field for his first few games. He's inconsistent, yet has shows flashes of the caliber player he can be. The true test is to see how he does during the offseason, and into training camp, where it's been said they are going to work on his throwing mechanics.

Betts is a fine backup, and will continue to be so. The only thing I've noticed is that when he gets wrapped up, or hit head on, he tends to not keep his legs moving and driving. You learn from mistakes, and I'm willing to bet the next time he feels a defender move around him, he'll have 2 hands on the ball...

Overall the offense has played very well, particularly the 2nd half of the year. The offensive line has played better, and the receivers have been getting more touches. A tweak here or there should get this offense into high gear.

Todd Collins did say it takes about a year to master Al Saunders' playbook. Hopefully Week 1 of the '07 season is an indication of great things to come.
