Outside of that 5-0 run, here are the records for the past seven seasons --
2000: 8-8
2001: 8-8
2002: 7-9
2003: 5-11
2004: 6-10
2005: 10-6
2006: 6-10 (at best)
All I'm saying is that maybe we weren't as good as the 10-6 record indicates. It was a magical run, you can't take it away from them, and yes, they were good enough to take advantage of soft opponents who suffered from injuries to key players. I was one who expected the Redskins to 'take the next logical step' this season. I know I wasn't alone. To say that you can NEVER expect the same basic group of players to advance from one season to the next is just plain wrong. You can certainly do that -- and I maintain that since the Redskins haven't done that this year, perhaps they just weren't as good as we all thought they were in 2005.

You took one sentence of what I said and ignored the rest.
But you know what, I am confident our Skins will rebound. So by your logic, if we go 11-5 or better next year, this year was a complete fluke, and we have a top notch team.
