You're comparing apples and oranges. A random shooting against total strangers that the shooter has never met or seen before is the act of an insane person. When a group seeks retribution for one of their own being dissed at a club, that is vengeful, and all too often in today's society, young people feel justified in taking another life in the name of "defending their manhood". For that, I do blame hip hop culture. Bill Cosby has spoken out for several years about this cultural problem:
