Portis doesn't like to practice, bitches about preseason, doesn't like to lift weights or train in DC/ Ashburn. He said it takes too much out of him to travel back and forth to DC and Miami during the offseason. Basically all he wants to do is play in the games which in the end he is paid to do. All these "U" guys want to do their own thing in South Beach. So IMO, although Portis is one of our best players, he's not a team leader. And in the end you need your best players to be leaders on and off the field. The Captains on this team are or should be: Jansen, Springs, M. Washington, Sellers, Samuels and soon Jason C.

I would add Randy Thomas as a potential captain.
