Personally, I couldn't stand Marty. He got rid of a lot of quality guys who "didn't fit his system." (The ones I remember are Larry Centers (a huge threat out of the backfield), James Thrash (who was the #1 receiver for Philly a couple of times)). (Sellers also left that year, but that's 20/20 hindsight.) Centers went to New Engand. Without him it was much easier for opposing defenses.

And he also dissed #28. With the above, for me that's the end of story. But in addition, it seemed as though if we were behind more than a few points we were doomed since Martyball couldn't come through for us. Am I correct that someone else is now calling the plays in SD?

Still, he shouldn't be fired after a 14-2 record. As far as the front office goes, how would they be this year if they had kept Brees?
