I mean think about it, Miami QB Kyle Wright was the #1 prospect 5 years ago. This year he'll be lucky to be drafted. Mario Williams was rated the 90th best prospect overall in his senior class. This year only two prospects that will go in the top ten picks of the draft this year were 5 star recruits coming out of high school.
Well theres also a very select few 5 star prospects, and most of them do end up being great college players. Theres a bunch more 4 star guys, and thats why they dominate the first round.

Scouting is an inexact science though. Not all 5 star prospects are going to have 5 star talent and every once in awhile, 3 star prosects will be superstars. Sometimes, high school coaches cant find the position where a guy is best at. Thus he gets ranked low, changes his position and becomes a stud at the college level.

Great research though.
