the downtown homeless situation, in general, is a huge conundrum in itself. downtown LA is quickly being transformed with this whole new infrastructure that is suppose to encourage more tourism and recreation (currently, the downtown area is mainly used for business and industrial purposes)... this directly impacts the homeless population and the overall problem keeps getting worse.

the homeless keep getting moved everywhere- skid row keeps changing (the homeless are even panhandling in chinatown now, which is a first). a big portion of the homeless live near the staples center/convention center area and that's exactly where LA is building a bunch of stuff. i'm really not sure where all these people are going to be forced to move in a year or so.
