The fact that releasing Trotter is even up for debate is a sign that Trotter is under a BAD CAP CONTRACT (the dreaded BCC ). The contract is a 7-year deal. 2004 is only the third year. If you are debating dropping a guy in year 3 of a 7-yr contract, then you signed him to a BCC.
I believe we are the only one's debating it, I don't think the skin's are.
