Re: Perspective from Denver
Earthquake:
If the best thing you can say about Jason Campbell is that he's a "better version of Aaron Brooks" then you don't think very much of Campbell. Brooks wore out his welcome in New Orleans and lost his job there; he went to Oakland and lost his job there to Andrew Walter who flat out STINKS. I'd start either of the Detmer brothers over Walter. Saying Campbell is better than Brooks means that Campbell doesn't trip over the yard lines when he runs and the ball eventually lands somewhere in the stadium when he throws it. Come on, you have to have something a LOT better to say about Jason Campbell than that...
Oh, and if Sean Taylor did not regress this year, then he stunk in his first two years too. That's what he did this year; he stunk. Don't know why that was the case because he is a physical juggernaut, but for whatever reasons, he just wasn't any good this year. Yes, I know he played in the Pro Bowl but if you get game tapes this year, he gave away as many TDs as Archuletta did. And when you play safety, there's a word for that kind of performance; UNACCEPTABLE.
Will Taylor get better? Probably. His physical skills ought to allow him to improve if he takes to even a little bit of coaching on fundamentals. But if he doesn't improve, the Redskins' defense is in trouble while he's back there at safety roaming around in places he shouldn't be and taking fakes he shouldn't take.
