Lichtenstein signs with the Washington Redskins.

In his statement announcing the aquisition, Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs said "We know they are a landlocked principality that doesn't have any football players, but we really like their potential." Gibbs continued "In the recent Swiss invasion, even though they were outgunned 170 to 0, those Lichtensteiners reallly fought their guts out. We think they have the potential to be real core redskins. Alternatively, we may send Arch over there as there is bound to be at least one Lichtensteiner he can cover."

League wide, GM's are blasting the news as just another attempt by Snyder to make a big splash in free agency. "Typical Snyder, overpay for something useless" said one GM who wished to remain anonymous. "We know this is the move that will send them to cap hell next year" said Lenny P between pizzas. Adam Schefter's response was "Lichtenstein? Lichtenstein? Come on, everybody knows they couldn't fight off Monaco. They are just hype. If it weren't for the Swiss invasion - hell, they wouldn't even be on the radar screen."

Undeterred, Gibbs responded to the criticism with a giggle "Oh well, I guess we'll just have coach'em up."
