Agreed. I also think Arch is the guy to go.
However I still think we can get something in a trade for him. Keep in mind this is a guy who LAST year commanded a $10M signing bonus. Obviously we overpaid, but if we didn't someone else would have surely given him $5M-$7M at least.
This is the same guy that can now be had for the LEAGUE MINIMUM in 2007. And his salary for 2008 is only $1M. And the acquiring team doesn't have to give him any signing bonus or any bonus whatsoever on top of his salary. And the acquiring team can cut him at any time for a deadcap hit of ZERO if things don't work out.
Is this not worth something to someone? Can a player's stock fall so far in one year?
My money's on a trade to the Bears. They wanted him bad last year, plus their D is good enough that Arch won't have to do too much. And like offiss suggested, maybe Arch would even give back some of the money to play for the defending NFC champs.

A trade with the Bears is possibly, due to Lovie.
But his stock fell so far, I thought it was Black Friday!
I would much rather see them keep this kid one more year. Use him to his strengths and so how he does, it can't be any worse. He MIGHT suprise??
Give Lloyd a one way ticket to nowhere.
