we still need to do something to get more picks though. If we could trade to denver we could get a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd according the NFL draft pick value chartESPN.com - NFL/DRAFT06 - NFL draft-pick value chart

If we lose postioning in the draft and pick up picks, its still better than drafting one highly rated player and hoping that he does well.

It could look like C. Rogers, S. Springs, F. Smoot, S. Taylor, and L. Landry for DBs

L. Marshall/R. McIntosh, L. Fletcher, and M. Washington for LB's

V. Abiamiri, K. Golston, C. Griffin, J. Alford(Penn State), and A. Carter on the Dline.

We could even get some more free agent help by that time, not to forget that we would still have a whole other day to draft!

Thats if and only if we trade!! I think someone will give up the farm once they see that Brady Quinn is available. We should be in good shape.
yeah, that DL would still scare me though, and there's no real FA help outside of ian scott or a surprise june 1 cut :/. I did cover a trade down to #21 in the next post though.

I think there's a very good chance quinn doesn't make it out of the top 3 though. there are enough DL guys that we could look to trade down to 12 or so regardless (assuming someone wants to move up) and still get either okoye or carriker, which is good enough for me (#6 is worth #12 and #50).

peterson could have also been a money ticket, but it looks like the offseason might relegate him to ~12 or so, which sucks for us. there are 6 very high value players, and peterson is the only one that looks like he'll be available, but he'll drop well past our pick anyways :/.
