Hamdan was the 18th pick of the 7th round in 2003, by the way. He was never expected to be much more than a project and a career backup, which is what most 7th rounders are, if they're lucky enough to make a roster. I think even Spurrier would tell you that. He's the kind of guy that sits on the practice squad for a couple of years, learns the ropes, and then becomes a 3rd-stringer for a couple of years. If he's lucky, he gains enough experience to maybe become a backup somewhere 4 or 5 years down the road. I expect he'll be signed to the practice squad, and probably play in NFL Europe again next spring.
