'Skins 24
Bucs 13
The 'Skins really have an unfair advantage in this one, IMO.
Gibbs and Williams have both shown very little all preseason so Gruden and the Bucs staff really have their work cut out for them. I'm sure Gruden has gone over tapes from back in the day, but he knows he's going to see a lot of different stuff on Sunday. It's not like Gibbs walked in to Redskins Park back in February, threw down his playbook from '92 and said this is the plan. Sure the base offense will be there, but I expect we're going to see plenty of wrinkles all season long and adaptations of other offenses from around the league.
The Bucs are getting old and don't have much left at the skill positions. BJ is a smart QB who's going to keep the ball moving, but get in his face and he'll start throwing some ducks. Garner is a nice double threat but he can be contained. The WR's are average and the offensive line is average at best.
It will all add up to a long day for the Bucs as Portis rushes for 125 and a score, Brunell tosses 2 TD's and the game isn't as close as the score.
