Re: Schedule Released TODAY @ 1pm EST
As far as schedule difficulty goes, I think the NFL should factor in how many games each team has to play opponents following a teams bye-week. I think a team comming off a bye-week has a distinct advantage because the team has chance to recooperate from injuries and has more time to prepare. Last year, the Redskins played 4 teams comming off a bye and lost every game. We played both the Giants and Philly after their Bye. Granted, the Redskins lost many games so who knows if they had anything to do with it.
With that said the Giants only played 1 team comming off a Bye. (Beat Altlanta). Philly played NO teams comming of a bye. And, Dallas played 3 teams- Houston, AZ, and the skins(2&1- we beat them).
I'll be interested to see how many teams we play following their Bye-week. Last year, we played 4 teams following their bye. And an additional two teams preceding their bye-week. I think this an unfair disadvantage, and Bye-weeks should be factored in for strength of schedule. Am I on to something here? Or does Bye-week scheduling present little to no advantage?
