I know that there are those of you who will say that we couldnt stop the run either. Well, here is my rebuttle for that. Teams would throw on us all day and get a lead on us. Once they had a lead in the third and fourth quarters, teams could just start pounding on us because our defense had already been run ragged. The offense didn't help by keeping our defense on the field so long by not sustaining drives.

We have already drafted 2 young DT's last year, and we will probably get another DE next year. At first I disagreed with what the Skins did in the draft, but after a little consideration I can understand why.
Salave'a was a surprise performer back in '04 and '05 -- but he was a stop-gap measure. His condition was never one that should have been relied on as a long term starter. Remember, they signed Brandon Noble and were prepared to ride him out as the #2. Salave'a's days of being a durable, 16-game starter are long over.

And you're right -- injuries did play a role with the D-line. Salave'a and Griffin were playing banged up practically all season, and the results were obvious. All the more reason to find guys who can play as opposed to milking older players until they're completely squeezed dry.
