If you don't like what's going on, then get off your fat ass and do something about it ON THE FIELD AS A COMPETITOR. You are only a spectator, and you are there to spectate...ie:WATCH. It was a disgusting display, and I'm sure JR is shaking his head at these rubes.

Hindsight is 20/20 my friend, and I'd be willing to bet that most of those who threw debris at Gordon probably regret it. I say most, because you will have those boneheaded that will never admit they are wrong. But, not even Richard Petty has fans as dedicated and loyal as Dale Earnhardt fans are. They are in a class amongst themselves, and from their display on Sunday, that isn't much class at this moment.
However, it's quite easy for any fan to get swept up in the moment. How many times have you gotten disgusted at what the Skins have done on the field? How many times have you wanted to throw a remote, a beer can, a recliner through your TV Set? There's a thin line between thinking and doing, and while most are able to calm down a notch and just think, others do. And while you said you are perhaps more sensitive from being in a situation similar to Gordon, put yourself in the shoes of a irate fan for just a second.
I certainly do no condone what the fans did on Sunday, or Philly, the Meadowlands (poor Santa Claus), or old fans who threw crap at Ty Cobb did, but in a sense I can understand it. Because it's not that easy to just get off your fat ass and do something about it. If it were, more people would do it. But with emotions running high, people lashed out. Now, you may not react the same way, but to each their own.
