Unless he is going to pout and moan and become a nuisance, we need to keep him. Both Rogers and Smoot are #2 corners AT BEST. Springs, when healthy is what someone else here called a "force multiplier" which I thought was exactly right. He plays the position at a different level than anyone else we have.
In the Dallas game at FedEx last year, Springs was beaten on a corner route (I think it was) when Dallas was driving around the 15 yard line. There were less than ten seconds left, so Springs just grabbed his man. He was called for PI, but Dallas had to settle for a FG because of the time and Parcells was beside himself. The fact that he had gone for 2 earlier and missed probably soured his mood. His mood got really, really, sour about two hours later. The point is that Springs is the only player we have who would have had the presence of mind to do that. The others would have given up 6. Let's keep him.
