I'm having a few contests people can enter their trucks into, and I have these guys helping with the entertainment. I'm spending around 5K between mailing invitations, securing the location, and jumpworks.
I still need food vendors, rest rooms, and music... at the least. I'm also on the lookout for one of those guys to bring in a mechanical bull and charge whatever they want for rides... hopefully I won't have to pay them if they can cover their own costs...
What I need is publicity. I need enough people to show up to make my boss believe grassroots marketing is not a waste of money. we spend far too much in ad campaigns.
Also any ideas for the event itself would be greatly appreciated! |
I'm not sure of the mechanics of it, but an email blast may be relatively cheap. if you can get the email lists for the redneck truck magazine recipients in your area, you may have something. Also, if some of your suppliers can get some advertising in with yours for the event, they usually can cut a deal for their services. Good luck, big job!
