Re: How do you think we size up against the FINS week 1, with Trent at QB

To be completely honest, right now I think it will be a defenive struggle drag out game. Trent Green although he is a very old guy according to NFL aging, he is still a very accurate quarterback who gets the job done and still makes mistakes. Also, Jason Campbell even though he has started 7 games in the NFL has not started a season as the unquestioned starter, although he really showed some flashes of excellence he has not started a season opener (butterflies all over again) and that might cause him to be too erratic and make some unneccessary pass that could end up being turnovers. Not to mention he has not face a defense this good before. (The Eagles are good yes but the Dolphins are alot more consistent and better.) So to be honest the game rests on four very important aspects:

1. Can Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts keep their defense off balance with the running game?

2. Will Jason Campbell ignore the butterflies, not get happy feet in the pocket, and not try to do too much?

3. Can our run defense show that 2006 was a fluke and that we are better than that and shut down Ronnie Brown? (Who to this point hasnt shown alot to be worthy of a second overall pick but has showed enough to be seriously accounted for.)

4. Can our Defense not give Trent Green enough time to pick us apart like most QB's did last year? Because we know if he has the time that he needs it will be a long day for us.

But, I see the game being decided on a defensive play in the 4th quarter like a fumble recovery or an interception that goes on into the endzone.

Redskins 24
Dolphins 17

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
