She has great imagination and her style very readable for all ages and intellects without being dopey. She's far superior to a lot of big selling "adult" authors like Dan Brown or John Grisham or Tom Clancy. Dan Brown is just terrible.

You want to read some good fiction try John LeCarre or Fredrick Forsythe. I like Tom Wolfe as well, although I would get a lot of disagreement from some quarters there. Philip Roth is good. "Portnoy's Complaint" is some top notch filth. "London Fields" by Martin Amis is fantastic.

Then you've got Saul Bellow in a class by himself. "THe Adventures of Auggie March" is the greatest American novel, IMHO.

I also like Steinbeck. "Cannery Row" is a must read.
