That year the Skins had so many injuries, that 3rd stringers were starting Brian Mitchell was unstoppable and awesome at Candlestick. We lost because Ripyen couldn't deliver the ball to Gary Clark in the end zone inside the 5 yard line of the 49ers. It broke my heart after the ball was intercepted to seal the whiners victory. It pisses me off when I hear how dominant the 49ers were when the Skins were just as good. I hate the Whiners!!!!!!!!!

Man, you're not kidding about the division differences. We had to deal with the Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants, while the Niners were blessed with the likes of the Saints, Rams, and Falcons. Actually, the Rams were pretty good with Jim Everett, but San Fran always had their number.
Well ... okay, we had some gimmes against the Cardinals too.
And I remember that playoff game in '92 -- just heartbreaking. It was the only good drive of the game, we had them on their heels, and Mitchell was on a roll. Then ... the fumble. Ugh. You may be thinking of the 1990 season in Candlestick -- Rypien guided the offense to something like 4 or 5 possessions inside the 49er 10-yard line, and threw 4 INTs.
