I think it's all tainted. All of it.
Although I do not feel Ripken's record is tainted due to the fact that I don't think he did anything, but he could have, so who knows.
I used to LOVE baseball, it was my favorite sport until the strike back in the early 90's. Even though I loved Football, that's when Football became my #1 sport. I never left football as my number 1, but I allowed the McGwire's of the world to bring me back to baseball and it was my #2 sport. After this, Baseball has fallen to NASCAR, and I am disgusted with Baseball.
If I was Selig, I am unsure of what I would do, so I don't blame him. But I do blame all of baseball for allowing this and sweeping it under the rug for many years.
