Uh, the BCS
is a bunch of damn sportswriters voting. That's what's wrong with it. There's absolutely no standard and its heavily founded on preconcieved (and often preseason) notions.
I could see a playoff system with the top 8 teams, but how do you decide who makes the top eight?
To me, a playoff system solves no problems. It just expands the Championship field to include some teams who should not be playing for a championship. If the NCAA can't come up with a better way to rank teams than letting the sportswriters make polls (the worst possible way), then they system will be inherently flawed no matter what.
