I understand the ankle guards, as I've taken one or two foul balls off my legs back in the day. but the upper arm crap is ridiculous... and if you are going to wear something, I think it should be worn until you get back to the dugout...so if you are going to go out there like Sir Lancelot, then you have to wear the crap running around the bases too.

I hit one off my ankle back in college, and it hurt, but it was my own fault for swinging at a ball. They didn't have body armor back in the day, they shouldn't be allowed to use it now.
I like your suggestion though, if you wear it to hit, you have to wear it at all times. That's fair. Although, what about batting gloves? Hard to throw with batting gloves on.
