I have read this many times and think its worth talking about. Parcells telling a player he can't play isn't enough. Why bother visiting him and insulting a guy in person if he's of no interest.

Either way I think it's easy to explain. He was scouted by the Cowboys scouts but Parcells has the final say. He scouts Cooley a bit himself, watches some tape, etc., and decides he doesn't like him and tells him so, end of story.
Why would Cooley make this up? And why would they want Cooley when they already had Witten?
