This is why NFL salaries are "worth it" compared to other sports. This could happen to anyone. It didn't even look like a hard hit, it just hit in the wrong way.
That is my worst nightmare, and I'm sure it is a lot of people's worst nightmares. I feel absolutely terrible for Everett and his family. This is one of the worst things that could happen to them.
