After I started to regain feeling, I wanted to lose it....had to be the most awful pain I ever felt. Obviously, I recovered alright, but I can distinctly recall the fear I felt when I was laying in the ER/OR totally immobilized and being told by the doctor that they had to operate or I could die. I was so damn scared that I cried; something I hadn't done in public since I was about 5.

I can't begin to express how sorry I felt for Everett when I saw the re-play. As I said in another thread, I am agnostic, but I'm praying for the guy. I hope others do as well.
Wow man...I can't even imagine that.
The worst I have ever experienced was when I was a teenager playing hockey. I was checked and lost my footing and slid into the boards head first...for about 1 second I lost functions of my arms and legs, but then it came immediately back. Every time I hurt my neck, the first thing I do is move my fingers and toes because of that injury. Scary man...very scary. I'm glad you recovered fully.
