Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
We can crown Dallas for being the NFC's best team in September, but instead I'll just award them a plastic participation trophy.
They could very well be playoff bound, but they will accrue their fair share of losses when they start playing competant teams. They haven't even played the best two teams in their own division yet, (although if Philly doesn't get healthy, they wont be much of an obsticle) and I'd bet that in those 4 games, they might win one. Plus they still have to go into the meadowlands to play the New York Giants, and the G-Men gave them everything they could handle in Dallas week one.
They are definately good enough to win some of those games, but not good enough to win them all. In a division where 10 wins isn't going to be enough to lock it up, I would not worry about them getting off to a 4-0 (prospectively 5-0) start. To get to the playoffs they will have to remain in 2nd place or better in their own division. There is no reason to think they are a better team than Philly, New York, or us for that matter. 4-0 is an advantage at this point, nothing more.
Everyone thought they were the best team in the conference last year too and they then went out and got smoked by a much better football team in New Orleans. People just want an excuse to say Dallas is the best team in the world. That does not make it so.
Impressive month, but I'm not sold. To me, the Giants are a better football team waiting in the wings. We won't struggle with the Cowboys, I don't think.
