I don't believe Brunell played badly today; the receivers aren't getting open downfield. Mark Brunell still has an arm left, but the receivers are going to have to show up every week. I think Gardner caught, what, one pass? When the posse was in D.C., Gary Clark was a threat and if he was covered, Ricky Sanders was the deep threat and if both were covered, then Art Monk could get open as a possession receiver. Right now, we have Coles who isn't 100%...the only real deep threat we have. Rod Gardner hasn't proven to be a deep threat or to get open deep down the field on a consistant basis.
As for Portis, I don't care if he gets 238 yards a game or if he gets 38 yards, he needs to hold on to the football; four games and four fumbles. The defense has played outstanding for the most part, but they cannot carry the team alone (Baltimore that year is the exception to the rule!)
I agree with Bozzy, I think this year is just a year for Gibbs to get the rust off, because right now, they don't look like they have any fire in them. I dunno though, its just hard for me to believe that the Dallas game took THAT much out of them!
