Your right I forgot that Jack Kente Cooke built it, which would explain why it had it's name on it in the beginning. if memory serves it wasn't named for Cooke until after he died. RFK was great. many memories there, I personaly would hate to see it go. I grew up seeing the old Diplomats play soccer there, the skins and the Dead every summer. that place is part of my life. I understand the need for progress and realize that it can't stand forever. But I will be sad when it is gone.
On another note. Back in October while on the metro on my way with my son to his first game, we came out of the ground right by RFK and he asked what it was, I told him what it was and shared some memories, which sparked the whole car and everyone was talking about RFK memories the rest of the ride.
