Todd Collins certainly deserves a lot of credit and may deserve the MVP, but I'm not so sure 1 of 22 starters is the
sole reason why this team is in the playoff seat. Collins isn't the RB running harder lately. Collins isn't the O-lineman who suddenly decided to open running lanes. Collins isn't the guy getting open on routes (e.g., Cooley running free for a TD against Minny) and grabbing balls that could easily be intercepted by opposing DBs (e.g., Moss' TD catch against Minny). Collins didn't stuff AP for 27 yards or force turnovers.
And though Collins didn't make any big mistakes against the G-men, I don't think he singlehandedly won us that game either. If I recall, Collins completed the fewest passes for a team that won the game since WWII. That was Portis and the D who won that game.
I love what Collins has done and he should start the rest of the way, but to give all of the credit for a possible playoff appearance to a guy who has played in 3 games and played really well in just 2 is unfair. This TEAM has put itself in position to win. All phases of the game are in better shape than they were 4 weeks ago and THAT is why we are in position for a playoff appearance.
