No it wasn't -- it gave our guys even more confidence and swagger, and probably injected a whole bunch of doubt and fear into the minds of Romo and the Cowboys.
This game was FAR from pointless. I think so much of pro football is about momentum and mental edge, among teams that are on a certain tier. Based on the fact that we really only got crushed by one opponent this season (New England), you see how many games we probably could have and should have won if we'd had the mental edge we needed to close out teams in the 2nd half.
Wade Phillips wanted this game to be your classic "tune up" game before the playoffs for his squad. That's why he brought his players out of the tunnel and had them retake the field for a chance to chuck a prayer at the end zone.
