He would probably have to do something to appease the fans, i.e. hire a new guy but bring in a GM as well.

Thought it's important to remember that if Williams comes aboard as head coach and decides to get rid of the entire offensive staff (for example), is that more stability than if say Russ Grimm became head coach, promoted Greg Blache to Assistant Head Coach, and kept everything else intact?
