The media definitely looks to sites like this to gauge the pulse of the fans, and in this case I think they might be using this as fuel to add to their fire. Does what we say bubble all the way up to Snyder? Perhaps. The question is how much does he allow it to sway his decision making. I'd guess probably not much at all. I'm sure he's pretty used to fans griping about something by now.
