I don't know why I am posting to this daft thread, but what Joe Gibbs said was: "We took a couple of shots today. But to be quite truthful, it's pass protection. We missed a key blitz one time, he got rushed about three or four times. He made good plays getting out of there and getting rid of the ball."
The pass protection failed on the long pass attempts. That is what Joe Gibbs said. It is also obviously the truth.
As for all the critics about Brunell's arm strength:
"I said before, Mark has a hose," Gardner said. "He has a very strong arm. It's totally bogus. Some of those balls you see, he's under pressure. He can throw that rock. People are looking for excuses because he's older. It's not because of his arm."
